2 IPL Players Tested +ve, Match Postponed

Going by the latest news from the sports circles, the IPL match number 30 that was supposed to take place today stands canceled. Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be playing tonight at Narendra Modi cricket stadium in Ahmedabad, as per the schedule. But, we came to know that the organizers called it off after multiple players from KKR have fallen ill. The supporting staff also said to have fallen sick and are currently isolating.

A BCCI official confirmed with ANI that both Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for COVID-19 and an official statement is expected on the same.

The popular sports websites have reported that a possible breach in the bio-bubble could have resulted in the players and staff falling sick. Including the Australian player Pat Cummins, a few other players from the team, along with the staff are currently under isolation.

The match will be rescheduled to a later date and there is no official statement from either BCCI or IPL board yet. Kolkata Knight Riders team is also yet to react to the news.

More details on the same will come out soon.
