Mother’s day turns tragic with a shocking incident in Queens, NY. The 28-year-old Pushkar Sharma, an Indian-origin man, has been booked on criminal homicide and sexually assaulting his 65-year-old mother at their residence in New York on 9th of May.
Pushkar allegedly attacked his mother Soraj Sharma in a brutal manner at their home in Jamaica in Bellerose Manor on Saturday morning. As per the prosecutors, the suspect grabbed his mother from behind, choked and punched her until she fell to the floor.
“Once down, the son allegedly continued the attack, strangling and punching his mother before sexually assaulting her. The victim lost consciousness and then died,” the New York Post quoted the officials as saying.
When asked the suspect, he said he “woke up the morning before Mother’s Day “with an uncontrollable urge to hurt someone,” according to a criminal complaint. He further explained the crime scene that he choked for a long time just to make sure she was dead.
Later, Puskar drove to the 105th Precinct and confessed to the crime while drenched in blood. Cops said Soraj Sharma’s daughter found her mother unconscious in the basement. She took Soraj to Long Island Jewish Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said “What should have been a celebration of Mother’s Day became a brutal, tragic nightmare for a Queens’ family”. Currently, Pushkar is held without bail, and his next appearance is on May 24, the report said.
