Remedy Or A Recipe For Disaster?, People Rush For Ayurveda Covid Medicine In AP

The nation’s entire focus is currently on a small village called Krishnapatnam in the Nellore district of Andhra Prades. Ayurvedic doctor Borigi Anandayya came up with medicine, using Ayurvedic formulas and he proved successful to cure COVID-19 patients. The medicine worked like magic on those who were given up by the Allopathy doctors. With the widespread of positive word of mouth, everyone is now reaching Krishnapatnam to take the medicine. However, there are several reports about this medicine from different sections of people.

Amidst the second wave of Corona, Ayurveda medicine is a ray of hope for all those struggling hard to withstand the virus. A few days back, the state government has put a hold on the distribution of the medicine and ordered a team from Ayush to verify if it is advisable to give it to the patients. However, Ayush gave a clean chit to the medicine yesterday because of which the distribution of the medicine is going to resume today. Already, heavy traffic jam is witnessed on the way that leads to Krishnapatnam. The entire media in the Nellore district has also reached Krishnapatnam to spread the word about the medicine.

Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy also stepped forward with an announcement that the medicine distribution will resume amidst all necessary arrangements. The officials have opened two counters at the spot where corona patients will be given the medicine at one counter and those with mild symptoms will be given the medicine at a different counter.

Borigi Anandayya is continuing his family’s tradition to take up Ayurvedic medicine as a profession. From Sri Rama Navami this year, Anandayya started the distribution of this medicine. Initially, the foot-fall is low but with his medicine curing the patients, people started reaching him in large numbers. As per the reports on social media, he has distributed the medicine to 70K people.

Ayush lab has given a report to the state government that the medicine is prepared by following the guidelines. The lab also stated that the medicine is not harmful to anyone. The final report is yet to arrive but the local MLA announced the distribution of the medicine already.

However, Anandiah does not give the same medicine for all and he has categorized the same as per various symptoms. The medicine can be taken by positive corona patients and those who are not infected with the virus as well. Anandiah makes concoctions with ingredients like ‘Tokha miriyalu’-cubeb pepper that is given as eye drops! There are many variants of medicine that supposedly work on everything from clearing lung congestion to improving O2 levels!

At a time when Allopathy medicine is becoming costly and running out of stock, people are looking at alternate medicine. People are getting discharged from hospitals only to take his medicine, which proves a fact that his medicine already gained trust in the public.

At the end of the day, all we need is a cure for this deadly virus and all our lives have to get back on track.  We just hope that the officials at the spot take necessary precautions in arranging the medicine distribution by following all the norms and social distancing. Otherwise, it could turn into a big mess. Also, the government should promote the medicine if it can really cure the virus because all we need is a medicine that brings the situation to normalcy.
