The pandemic Covid-19 is a scary thing for humanity but for the people of Coimbatore, a temple is built and Corona Goddess is set-up and daily special poojas and rituals are being carried out.
In the wake of Covid-19 crisis in the country, Kamatchipuri Adhinam in Coimbatore has erected a granite Corona idol and the temple is performing homams and yagas for the next 48 hours. The priests of this temple believe that if these homams are done, the influence of the virus would come down.
Well Coimbatore has a history of such spiritual beliefs. In the 1900s when Coimbatore was hit by plague, the locals offered prayers to Plague Mariamman temple and then the plague vanished from the place.
However, the rituals to Corona Goddess are being carried out without the public as to avoid unwanted public gathering.
At a time when India needs a miracle to come out of this crisis, such beliefs gain importance. Hope the priest’s faith would come true.
