Online Wedding, The New Trend!

Lockdown has affected the complete market and weddings have been badly hit. Those who have scheduled to marry in these months are postponing their wedding dates with a heavy heart. But, a Kerala couple, Vignesh KM and Anjali Ranjith opted to marry anyhow in a prompt manner. It is said that the couple have planned to tie the knot in this year from 2019 and the lockdown has affected their big plans, making their plans bleak and upside down.

But, this young couple did not want to settle for it. Instead, they decided to wed in lockdown, along with guests as well. They have invited family and friends from all corner of the world, via video conferencing app Zoom. The couple also designed a special invitation card for the virtual wedding, which consist of Zoom id and password, to witness their big day. The guests were seen blessing the couple and witnessing the fabulous wedding online, including the parents of the couple.

The venue of the wedding was the groom’s house and a few of his roommates helped them in the arrangements. One of them also took the responsibility of representing the couple’s family and performed the rituals with them. The groom, Vignesh said, “We are lucky that everyone went absolutely perfect. A stable internet and technology-enabled our family and friends from all around the globe to join the virtual marriage. Though it was a different experience it was also a really memorable one”.

The outfits of the couple were also apt from tip-to-toe as per tradition, and they were seen exchanging garlands and floral bouquets with the wedding song, “Mangalyam” from the movie Sakhi in Tamil played in the background. Long story short, both Vignesh and Anjali are colleagues in Pune and they have planned to travel their hometown Kerala for their summer wedding but couldn’t due to the lockdown.

The bride said that they were hoping to get married grandly along with their family members at least by the first week of May. Since, everything is seeming unchanged, they have decided to not postpone the wedding. Also, the couple’s parents sent mangalsutra and wedding attire through speed post when the lockdown restrictions were relaxed in the state and they watched the entire event from Kerala via Zoom app.
