US To Donate 500 Million Vaccines To Other Countries

In a magnanimous experiment, the United States of America will reportedly procure 500 million more doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and donate them to 92 lower-income countries and the African Union through the global COVAX alliance, as the US dramatically increases its efforts to facilitate global-wide.

US President Joe Biden will reportedly make the announcement on the same in a speech at the Group of Seven (G7) summit, scheduled to take place in Britain from June 11-13. The inside sources also confirm that Biden is planning to distribute 200 million shots in 2021 and the remaining 300 million in the first half of 2022.

The lower and middle-income countries might soon get the donations via the COVAX vaccine program that distributes COVID-19 vaccines. COVAX is co-led by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and the World Health Organization (WHO), besides vital partner UNICEF.

It is also reported that the US is simultaneously looking to acquire Moderna Inc doses so that it can commence donating to a few countries. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said to media that Biden is relentlessly committed to donating vaccines as it was in the public health and strategic interests of the US.

Earlier, the Biden administration also announced it would share at least 80 million vaccine doses with the world by the end of June. The White House discussed allocating 25 million doses, with about 19 million of them being shared with Covax to distribute doses around the globe. 6 million shots would be shared directly with countries experiencing severe outbreaks.
