Coach Advised Team India To Do Sex before Match

Former Mental Conditioning and Strategic Leadership Coach of Indian Cricket Team, Paddy Upton revealed some bizarre revelations in his autobiography The Barefoot Coach. He stated that he once advised the players to have sex before the match.

Paddy worked with the Indian team from 2008 to 2011. Apparently, India’s then-coach Gary Kirsten got furious with Paddy’s advice and warned him about the same. Eventually, Paddy had apologized to Gary for giving such suggestions and admitted it was his mistake. India won the World Cup in 2011 under the guidance of Gary and Paddy.

Apparently, Paddy Upton was preparing notes during the 2009 Champions Trophy and that was the time he gave detailed notes about the benefits of having sex before the match.

Apart from working with the Indian team, Paddy Upton also served as the head coach of Pune Warriors in 2012, Rajasthan Royals for three years (2013-15), and Delhi Daredevils for two editions (2016-17) in the Indian Premier League. He also served as a head coach in Big Bash and Pakistan Super Leagues as well.
