However, Musk appointing the six young techies is also drawing criticism. There is fear that placing the young and inexperienced people in key government roles could have serious national security implications, even when they excellent credentials.
All the six engineers have been sanctioned top-level security clearance, giving them access to critical government systems– which are usually reserved for senior officials having good experience, after conducting background checks.
The decision to grant such extensive access is being termed as a high-stakes gamble by a few people.
Meanwhile, a top engineer at DOGE, 25-year-old Marko Elez, has put in his papers after a racist posts against Indians surfaced.
In a post on X, Elez wrote “Normalise Indian hate” which sparked a lot of backlash and led to global outrage.
The Wall Street Journal reported about Elez’s resignation and he put up several other posts hating Indians like “Indians in the US on H-1B visas are “going back don’t worry guys”.
