Maruthi’s Comeback Should Begin From Scratch!

Working with superstar is like working with a double edged sword for directors. If they deliver a good film that clicks at the box office, they accumulate fame and money, along with love from fans. But if they fail to deliver, the repercussions are stiff as they face endless trolls on social media. 

Now, it is director Maruthi’s turn to witness the scenario as he recently delivered Raja Saab which failed on multiple counts. This is one of the weaker Telugu films in recent times, and Maruti is having to face the brunt of this attack as social media users have been trolling him left right center. 

The common opinion is that Raja Saab has too many things going against the cause, right from the writing level to the execution level. Even Prabhas fans have been firing at those associated the the film including Maruti himself. 

While Maruthi might’ve hoped to enter the big league of directors by delivering a winning film with Prabhas, it didn’t quite work out for him. So he finds himself in a position where he must start from ground zero. 

Maruthi himself is not an incapable filmmaker, as he has well-written and commercially successful films like Mahanubhavudu, Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, and others to his credit. On his day, he can deliver a good film that works at the box office.

The failure of Raja Saab might be tough to follow as a golden opportunity has been blown away. At the same time, a few people are pointing out that Maruthi might have to take inspiration from the likes of Gunasekhar who made blockbuster Okkadu after disaster Mrugaraju and Boyapati Srinu who made a comeback with Akhanda after Vinaya Vidheya Rama. 

Maruthi now finds himself in a position where he himself must wage a comeback battle and revive his prospects in Tollywood back from scratch. There have been unverified reports about Maruthi possibly working with Varun Tej next, but his team condemned those reports. We have to patiently wait for his communication.
