United States president Donald Trump is one of the most unpredictable and impulsive personalities in global politics. On one hand, he has imposed tariffs on India and now he has communicated that United States will soon have a good trade deal with India.
Incidentally, Donald Trump was asked about the existing relationship with India and he had a pretty staple response.
When asked to comment on the possible trade deal between India and the United States, Donald Trump stated “I have great respect for your Prime Minister(Modi). He’s a fantastic man and a friend of mine. We are going to have a good deal.” He said.
Well, this comment might have a very strong positive sounding from the outset, Trump is highly unpredictable at the end of the day, and we have to see what kind of a trade deal he will strike with India.
The timing of this statement from Donald Trump comes just a day after the European Union communicated that they are potentially signing “Mother of all deals” with India very soon. At the fundamental level, Trump will have to ease off the tariffs on India for a meaningful dialogue to be established sooner or later.
