Andhra Pradesh has taken a significant step towards quantum computing and its future prospects. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Jitendra Singh officially launched the Quantum Valley earlier today, marking the first step towards creating history of the highest order.
With partnerships spanning IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, SRM University-AP, global skilling leaders and deep-tech innovators, AP is now home to India’s first quantum cloud outside IBM, a national quantum innovation centre, the country’s first quantum hardware testbed and a workforce pipeline of millions.
From research to real-world deployment, AP is now building India’s quantum future in Amaravati and things are looking really promising.
With this, Andhra Pradesh has taken a major step in advanced technology as CM Chandrababu laid the foundation for Quantum Valley in Amaravati.
Spread over 50 acres, the project will host India’s first 133-qubit quantum computer with IBM, TCS and L&T as key partners. Andhra Pradesh government is fully committed to develop the project into a mega outcome with support from quantum technology.
During the Quantum Valley event in Amaravati, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that while quantum computing requires time and sustained effort, Andhra Pradesh is set to operate its first quantum computer by December 2026.
On the occasion, Union Minister Jitendra Singh praised the visionary leadership of Chandrababu, asserting that quantum computing is no longer an option but an essential necessity, and highlighted the dedicated budgetary support.
