NTR–Neel’s Long Wait Should Deliver a Bigger Payoff

The much-awaited collaboration between Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel has been a long journey in the making. First announced in May 2022, the project took its time to materialize, eventually getting officially launched in August 2024. 

The shoot finally commenced in February 2025, raising expectations among fans. However, the film has since faced multiple delays due to various reasons, with the latest announcement confirmed a release date of June 11, 2027. With this, it would mark over five years from the initial announcement, an unusually long timeline even for a big-ticket project.

Despite the delays, there is some positive news for fans. The makers have officially confirmed that a small glimpse or teaser will be unveiled on May 20, coinciding with Jr NTR’s birthday. This will finally give audiences a first look into the film’s world and tone.

Adding to the excitement is speculation that the makers might be planning a two-part release, shooting both installments simultaneously. If executed well, similar to how Dhurandhar 2 was planned, it could turn into a major advantage. 

A well-structured release strategy with a short gap between parts may build strong momentum. While the wait has been long, the scale, ambition, and the combination of Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel still hold massive potential, and it should deliver a bigger payoff for fans who have been waiting for years.

If everything falls into place, this extended timeline could ultimately translate into a big win at the box office. Rukmini Vasanth plays the female lead in the film, which also features a noted Hindi actor in a key role. Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts are jointly producing the film, with T-Series presenting it.
