A police case has been filed against noted film producer and T-Series music company head Bhushan Kumar. Mumbai police have registered a case in DN Nagar police station against Bhushan Kumar over allegations of raping a woman on the promise of providing job.
According to reports,a 30-year-old woman complained that she was abused and taken advantage of on the pretext of offering a job in the accused’s company.
The woman – a model and aspiring actress – is said to be an Andheri resident. She told the police that she knew Bhushan Kumar since August 2018. She alleged that she was sexually exploited by the accused between 2017 and 2020. No arrest has been made so far. The probe is underway.
“A case registered under sections 376 (rape) , 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code against Bhushan Kumar, managing director, T-Series, at DN Nagar Police station on allegations of rape with a 30-year-old woman on the pretext of engaging her for a project at the company. Probe underway, no arrests made till now,” a Police officer at DN Nagar police station was quoted in a news report.
However, this wasn’t the first ‘Me Too’ allegation against Bhushan Kumar. An unknown woman too had earlier made similar allegations against Bhushan Kumar accusing him of seeking sexual favours from her. The woman alleged that Bhushan had called her to his bungalow for a three-movie deal and had allegedly threatened to “destroy” her career when the latter had refused to meet his demands of sexual favours. However, Bhushan Kumar had denied all those allegations.
Bhushan Kumar is yet to respond to the latest allegation.Bhushan is a big name in Bollywood. He has produced several blockbuster films. He also produced Prabhas’ Saaho and is currently producing Radhe Shyam which stars Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.
