Looks like the Hindi stars are busy grabbing the remake rights of south films. A number of Hindi stars are remaking Telugu hits in particular. Shahid Kapoor is remaking Jersey and now Aditya Roy Kapoor has joined the list.
The update is that Aditya will be remaking Ram’s last film Red. The film was an average grosser at the Telugu box office. Not many know that Red was also the remake of a Tamil film called Thadam.
Helmed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar the film is tentatively planned to go on floors in September this year.
The film will be produced by T Series and will have Aditya in a double role. The last-minute script formalities are being locked as of now.
An excited Aditya says “The original film was incredibly riveting and entertaining, and it left a lasting impression on me and I am dying to start the film as soon as possible”. Aditya has not seen much success and we need to see how he will make this film work.
