Suriya is the first big star of the South Indian film industry who had opted for a direct digital release for his movie Soorarai Pottru. The humongous success of that film on the Amazon Prime Video gave the other stars the confidence of releasing their films on OTT platforms.
Meanwhile, the Ghajini actor lined up four new Tamil releases on Amazon Prime Video. One film will release every month starting from September. All these four films are produced by Suriya and one of them features him as the lead hero.
In Septmeber, Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum will premiere on the Prime Video. It is directed by Arisil Moorthy and produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the 2D Entertainment banner.
In October, the actor’s other production venture Udanpirappe will start streaming on the OTT platform. Directed by Era. Saravanan, this rural drama features Sasikumar and Jyotika in the lead roles.
Suriya-starrer Jai Bheem will have a Diwali premiere in November. Directed by Tha.Se.Gnanavel, this courtroom drama features Prakash Raaj in the other prominent role.
In December, Prime Video will premiere the slice-of-life film Oh My Dog. It features Arun Vijay and his son Aarnav Vijay in the lead roles.
Apart from Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum, the rest of the films will release in the Telugu language as well.
