Buzz: Record OTT Deal Offered For KGF 2

KGF Chapter:2 is one of the most-awaited upcoming releases in Indian Cinema. The success of its predecessor KGF Chapter:1 doubled the anticipation of the sequel. Directed by Prashanth Neel, this movie features Yash in the lead role.

Already, the teaser of KGF shattered all the existing records on Youtube and amassed more than 200 million views. It was supposed to hit the screens on July 16th but the second lockdown and the shut down of theatres made the producers postpone the release.

The new release date of KGF 2 is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, it is being heard that a big OTT platform has offered a huge deal for the makers for a direct digital release. Apparently, the makers of KGF have been offered a whopping amount of Rs. 255 crores for the exclusive digital release.

This is probably the biggest OTT deal offered for any Indian film. However, it is heard that Yash is adamant about going for a theatrical release and informed the same to producers.

It has to be seen if the producers stick with Yash’s words or go on to sign the lucrative digital deal.
