Ahead of the 75th Independence Day, various OTT platforms are coming up with patriotic film releases. In the process, Amazon Prime Video premiered Shershaah today. Starring Siddharth Malhotra in the lead role, Shershaah was released amidst heavy expectations.
Shershaah is a biographical drama based on the life of Param Veera Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra, who got martyred in the 1999 Kargil War. It was directed by Vishnuvardhan of Panjaa fame. Kiara Advani played the female lead in it and Karan Johar has bankrolled the project.
For the first time in his career, Sid played a dual role in this movie. He is seen in the roles of Vikram Batra and Vishal Batra in the film.
The trailer got a stunning response from the audience and raised the expectations on the film. It was supposed to have a theatrical release but the COVID-19 pandemic and the second lockdown forced makers to opt for a direct digital release.
People who are interested in watching patriotic dramas and war films can now catch Shershaah on Amazon Prime Video.
