Sampath Nandi auditioned 700 girls for Seetimaarr

After Gautham Nanda, hero Gopichand and director Sampath Nandi have teamed up together for a new film called Seetimaarr. Touted to be a sports drama set in the backdrop of Kabaddi, this movie is all set to hit the screens on September 3.

Speaking to an English daily, Sampath said that he had to audition more than 700 girls for the roles of Kabaddi players in the movie. He revealed that the film is about a Kabaddi team winning for the cause in a village.

Sampath stated that he grew up watching and playing Kabaddi at his village Odela during his childhood. As it is a mass game, he always wanted to make a movie on it. He decided to write the script once he started watching the Pro Kabaddi League.

The team had to spend a lot of time getting the casting right. Sampath said that he had auditioned more than 700 girls and selected 24 of them. Four of them are national players and the crew had to train them in acting before taking the film on sets. Sampath is quite confident about the success of the film. Seetimaarr features Tamannaah as the female lead.
