After staying away from the big screen for a long period following Stree 2, Shraddha Kapoor is back with Eetha, a film directed by Laxman Utekar, who delivered the blockbuster Chhaava last year.
The trailer has created curiosity as Eetha is based on the life of legendary Maharashtra Lavani and Tamasha performer Vithabai Narayangaonkar. The trailer introduces Shraddha as a passionate artist who rises to fame despite facing betrayal and personal struggles.
It showcases colourful stage performances, energetic dance sequences, and the difficult life faced by Eetha. Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are also seen in important roles.
The biggest positive is the film’s setting. Lavani and Tamasha offer a fresh backdrop, while Shraddha has put considerable effort into the role. Her expressions, costumes, and dance movements look promising.
Ajay-Atul’s music also adds energy to the trailer. However, the trailer follows a familiar biographical drama template, moving between an artist’s struggles, emotional setbacks, and eventual rise.
Some dramatic dialogues and elevation moments feel predictable. The real challenge will be presenting Vithabai’s journey with depth rather than relying only on grand visuals and emotional scenes.
With Chhaava behind him, Laxman Utekar has a different challenge this time. Eetha arrives in theatres on December 4. Shraddha’s performance and the film’s emotional depth will decide whether this becomes a memorable comeback.
