Dulquer Salmaan and Hanu Raghavapudi’s upcoming period war drama is becoming bigger with each passing day. Now, it got a new addition from the Hindi film industry. Actor Ashwath Bhatt, who is known for his work in films like Haider, Kesari, and Raazi, is now playing a pivotal role in this new project.
Ashwath himself confirmed the news in an interview with the Times of India. He is playing the role of an antagonist in it. Ashwath worked with Dulquer’s father Mammootty in the 2014 film Gangster and is now sharing the screen with his son.
The National School of Drama (NSD) alumni said that he got a meaty role in this movie. He said, “I never want to be placed in a box. I always look for versatility. If playing a character doesn’t make me nervous, it isn’t worth it. I’ve gotten offers from Telugu filmmakers before but I felt this film allows me to showcase my skills as an actor.”
“I play a character who’s from a whole different age group than me. You won’t even recognise me on screen. Although I know how to speak Telugu, in this film, my character speaks in Hindustani,” he further added.
Ashwath will soon resume the shooting of this movie in Himachal Pradesh. Produced by Swapna Cinema, this movie features Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.
