The Active Telugu Film Producers Guild, which has been spearheading the interests of Telugu producers, has proposed a pay cut of 25 percent for all the 24 crafts.
Considering the Coronavirus pandemic and its implications and downfall of market and theatrical businesses, the Guild has proposed a flat 25 percent cut for all the crafts. This includes actors, directors, cinematographers, musicians, singers, dubbing artistes, editors and other technicians.
The Covid-19 pandemic has left a great void in the entertainment industry. With a pall of gloom surrounding the theatres, there’s a lot of quandary over the release of films. This has also affected several films that are in pre-production phase.
Many big-budget films have cut down their budgets owing to the deadlock. As the future of the industry looks grim and expected to take several months to bounce back, Guild has proposed some recommendations to the film producers and other crafts.
Interestingly, one has to wait and see whether the leading actors would agree to this huge pay cut given that their remunerations are high.
