Before the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, there were numerous reports on Kollywood star hero Vijay’s political entry. These reports gained huge significance with Vijay’s father SA Chandrasekhar floating Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI) in November 2020.
But in no time Thalapathy Vijay reacted to the reports and clarified that he is not stepping into politics and if anyone would be using his name for politics, he would take legal action. Accordingly, Vijay approached a Chennai city civil court and filed a petition. Vijay urged the court to restrain his parents and other office-bearers of VMI from organising any meeting using his name.
The court has asked Chandrasekhar to file an affidavit regarding VMI and in it, he claimed that the general body meeting of VMI was held in February 2021 and it was decided to dissolve the party with immediate effect.
So that’s it Vijay keeps politics at bay while his father doesn’t want to step into politics in late years of his life. But Thalapathy fans have little hope to see their matinee idol as a politician. Nevertheless Vijay always maintains stoic silence on controversial issues and he would maintain the same for his political entry.
