Simbu’s ‘The Loop’ Trailer: Lacks the punch

Actor Simbu shot to fame in the Telugu film industry with Manmadha and Vallabha. However, he couldn’t maintain the stardom with his other films and eventually, lost his market in the Telugu states. Now, he is planning to make a grand comeback with his next release The Loop.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The Loop is the Telugu dubbed version of the Tamil film Maanaadu. The trailers of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam versions were released earlier this morning.

Natural Star Nani released the Telugu trailer of the film. “Best wishes to the team #TheLoop. Here’s the trailer,” tweeted Nani along with the trailer.

Going by the trailer, the film looks like a time-loop thriller set in the backdrop of politics. Simbu seems to be playing the role of an assassin while SJ Suriyah played the role of a cop who is on the hunt for the lead hero.

The trailer feels rushed and lacks the punch. Moreover, the dubbing quality looks very poor. There are many amateur VFX shots that are very odd to see in this age.

The makers are planning a Diwali release for this film. On the whole, it seems to be a risky film for Simbu to make a comeback in Tollywood. It has to be seen how it fares at the box office.
