Friday Release: All Eyes On Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Penguin’

The lockdown has become a blessing in disguise for Over The Top (OTT) platforms. Subscribers and viewership has increased to these platforms in the last three months. In order to keep this momentum, OTT platforms are luring many films and producers to release on digital space as there is a lot on uncertainty on theatres reopening anytime soon.

However, films which have released earlier on OTT portals did not get proper response and with another films releasing in few more hours, all eyes are on it. It’s National Award winning actress Keerthy Suresh starrer ‘Penguin.’

So far the films released OTT portals are small range ones but Keerthy’s ‘Penguin’ can be reckoned as big ticket. Keerthy has a good craze down the south and the film producer being a popular director, have managed to create a buzz on ‘Penguin.’

Despite the noise, many in the industry have kept their fingers crossed anticipating for its outcome. Amidst this, there are lot of hopes on the film as big and small time producers are looking at OTT to cope with the losses they incurred in the last few months.

‘Penguin’ film’s result will certainly have a direct and indirect impact on south film industries. For now all we can do is to hope for the best.
