The media (Electronic, Print and Web) was highly enthusiastic about Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections. Comments and counters by Prakash Raj, Manchu Vishnu and their panel members were widely covered and a few news channels held debates too.
On Sunday post casting his vote, Megastar Chiranjeevi mocked the media for extracting the content that can get them enough TRP. “Hope you (media) all got the required material,” said Chiru when the media confronted him.
Post the results, veteran actor Mohan Babu urged all the newly elected members to not to talk before the media without the consent of the new President Manchu Vishnu.
Joining the voices, anchor Jhansi slammed the media and added that we are all the scape goats of the watch dogs. Taking to her Instagram, Jhansi wrote, “It’s not about what you want to know… you are forced to watch what they want you to see. We are all the scape goats of the watch dogs. Ppl loose their senses when they see the hypnotic camera lenses. Don’t get carried away with these non-senses. Choose your news carefully.”
Jhansi vents out her frustration narrating a story of a wounded cow and compares the media with crows. “Be it a wedding or divorce or elections related to the film industry, the media turns up at people’s homes with their dirty mics. Aren’t there bigger issues outside? Please search the dictionary to learn the meaning of public interest,” read the note shared by Jhansi.
That’s a strong attack on the media but what provoked her to react so harshly to the media?
