Like Father Like Son; Puneeth Donated Eyes

Among a huge list of actors who have pledged to donate their eyes, late actor Puneeth Rajkumar also donated his eyes which is truly impressive. Just like his late father Matinee Idol Dr Rajkumar, the Powerhouse performer Puneeth Rajkumar also donated his eyes.

Dr Rajkumar believed that sight is precious and there is no point in burying healthy eyes that can be used to help someone else. And Puneeth was said to believe the same. Since there is a six-hour window to get the eyes after death, the doctors have reportedly removed the actor’s corneas.

India sees nearly 2 million people waiting for transplants and there are only about 9,000 donations annually. The waiting list for donors is very long and it is an emotional moment for fans to learn that the actor’s eyes are still alive.
The 46-year-old actor breathed his last at a private hospital on Friday and he left behind a wife and two daughters. Kannada thespian Dr Rajkumar has been the role model for Puneeth Rajkumar throughout his illustrious career.
