Omicron Fears Surrounding RRR & Radhe Shyam ?

Amidst rise in Omicron cases, Covid-19 restrictions are back in several states. Several states have imposed night curfews and a 50 percent cap on cinemas and gyms along with restrictions on social gatherings.

With only 50 percent seating capacity and night curfews from 9 pm to 6 AM, the Box Office collections are expected to take a severe hit. Particularly, the night two shows could be severely impacted with the night curfew. This is expected to have a huge impact on the upcoming big releases like RRR and Radhe Shyam.

With this, speculations are rife that the two biggies may consider postponing their releases. UP, Haryana and Maharashtra announced night curfews and restrictions. Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and West Bengal had already announced restrictions. Uttarakhand may impose a night curfew and other restrictions. So, these moves are expected to dent the collections of RRR and Radhe Shyam.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 scare is intact overseas market as well. Several countries have imposed restrictions. This is also a major worry for the forthcoming big-ticket movies. Buzz is that the makers of upcoming big releases are mulling over the postponement of releases due to unforeseen conditions.

However, a key decision is only expected after January 1, 2022 depending on then prevailing conditions. Till then, the makers are praying that Omicron shouldn’t spread and hoping for the best.
