Franchises always generate a lot of demand and craze in trade. Nikhil and Chandoo Mondeti’s Karthikeya was a sleeper success back in 2014. The movie released with no expectations had created a storm at the ticket windows. Now, Nikhil and Chandoo have teamed up again for Karthikeya 2. T

Buzz is that the film’s satellite rights and digital rights have fetched a fancy price. Zee Studios has acquired the satellite rights and digital rights of all languages of Karthikeya 2 for Rs 16.50 Crore. The deal was closed sometime back and this is a great development. The film features Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead. Kaala Bhairava has composed music and songs said to have shaped up well.

Karthikeya 2 will boast extensive visual effects and grand, lavish sets. These costed a bomb to producers. This high-budgeted visual extravaganza is being bankrolled by TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibhotla on People Media Factory. The film’s theatrical release is being planned for May last week.
