Until now, Amazon Prime Video used to be the most popular OTT platform in the Telugu arena. The streaming giant used to buy the digital rights to all the major films in Telugu, which in turn gave it a huge subscriber base down here.
Now, slowly and steadily, other OTT platforms like Zee5 and Hotstar are also concentrating on Tollywood. Already, Zee5 bought the digital rights of RRR and Radhe Shyam. The acquisition of these movies will definitely bring huge subscriptions among Telugu folks.
On the flip side, Hotstar is also doing its best to grab the attention of Telugu viewers. Recently, it bought the digital rights of Akhanda and the film proved to be a blockbuster in the OTT space as well. Now, it is all set to launch the OTT version of the popular television show, Bigg Boss.
Titled Bigg Boss Non Stop, this complete OTT version will be launched on February 26. With this, audiences can now stream the show 24*7 on Hotstar.
As Bigg Boss enjoys huge popularity among the viewers, we can expect the OTT version to do good as well.
This is a good chance for Hotstar to increase its Telugu subscriber base. We have to see how far will Bigg Boss Non Stop helps the OTT platform in increasing its users.
