After multiple delays, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR is all set to hit the screens on March 25. There is no denying in saying that the film will mint huge openings at the box office. But there is a threat that can damage the opening collections of this big-budget film.
While RRR is releasing on March 25, IPL 2022 is all set to begin on March 26. Within a gap of 24 hours, the cricket and film fans are going to witness two big events.
This time, IPL is going to feature 10 teams and will be much bigger than the previous seasons. Moreover, we can expect three matches to be held in the first two days of the league. As there are many teams and it is a new format, high viewership can be expected.
Thus, there are chances of RRR’s evening and night shows getting affected due to the IPL.
However, we cannot take it too seriously as well. Rajamouli’s previous flick Baahubali 2 was also released during the IPL. But it sustained the competition and managed to emerge as the biggest blockbuster in Indian cinema.
Even RRR is expected to repeat the same feat. We have to see if it does or not.
