Overseas: Tollywood’s Poor Show Continues!

We are coming to the end of 2022’s first quarter and it has been a lukewarm period for the Telugu film industry. Barring a couple of films, none of the movies managed to strike gold at the box office.

If we take the case of the USA box office, Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak and Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s DJ Tillu are the only films that became profitable ventures for the overseas distributors.

Bheemla Nayak collected over $2.43 million at the USA box office and became a good hit there. On the other side, DJ Tillu collected around $553k and became a profitable venture.

The recent release Radhe Shyam is trying hard to cross the $2 million mark as of now. It will end up as a huge loss venture for the overseas distributors.

Other notable releases like Bangarraju, Rowdy Boys, Khiladi and Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu also became loss-ventures in the USA.

Everyone is now waiting for the release of RRR. The overseas rights of this movie were sold for a humongous price and pre-sales are extraordinary as well. Trade pundits are expecting it to create wonders at the USA box office.
