In South, the filmmakers are trying different genres and are scoring big hits at the box office. For instance, the recent hit Hridayam in Malayalam caught the attention of Bollywood, and Karan Johar bagged the rights for the same.
There are a few other films from Tamil and Kannada that are making big noise in Bollywood. At this moment, South Cinema is busy with multiple releases despite facing a pandemic. It has made the Bollywood filmmakers jealous. The pandemic affected Bollywood a lot and the star heroes are not very active in resuming the film shoots and announcing the release dates.
With the latest RRR sensation, everyone is now scratching their heads to understand how South cinema, and especially Tollywood is emerging as the New Bollywood.
