Akkinenis Aim 200 Crore Club

SS Rajamouli’s RRR has brought back the glory of Indian cinema. People are getting into theatres in large numbers to watch this film.

In a week of its release, RRR has become the second highest-grossing film in India. This has given a boost to the other big-budget films which are gearing up for release later this year.

There are many biggies that are slated for release in 2022. They are Brahmastra, Prithviraj, Laal Singh Chaddha, Vikram Vedha, Cirkus and Ram Setu.

After the success of RRR, the makers of these films will get confidence in releasing their movies only in cinema halls. All these movies are expected to collect more than Rs.200 crores at the box office if they score a hit.

Interestingly, two of these films feature Akkineni actors in pivotal roles. While Akkineni Nagarjuna played a key role in Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya essayed a pivotal character in Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha.

So, it has to be seen if these movies of Akkineni actors manage to enter the 200 crore club this year. If they do, this family will have two 200-crore club films in 2022.
