After the success of the Baahubali franchise, pan-India films have become a trend in Indian cinema. Especially, many South Indian filmmakers are releasing their big-budget films in multiple languages and promoting them as pan-India films.
Some of them are taking a step ahead and are signing up Bollywood and other language actors to get a pan-India image.
For example, we have seen non-Telugu actors like Bhagyashree, Kunal Roy Kapur, and Jayaram in Radhe Shyam.
There was no need to bring such big actors for minute roles in the film. In the end, their characters didn’t matter at all and the movie became a flop at the box office.
If we take Pushpa, it was a big hit in North India even though there was no Bollywood actor in it. The same was the case with KGF Chapter: 1.
Thus, it is the content that matters at the end of the day and not the star cast. It is high time for some filmmakers to realize this fact and start spending more money on good writers than other language actors.
