I Pay 42 Percent Tax, What’s Wrong In Ticket Hike: Chiru

Published by

Megastar Chiranjeevi is fully into the promotions of his upcoming movie ‘Acharya.’ Earlier in the day the prime cast of ‘Acharya’ and the director Koratala Siva interacted with the press and when asked about the ticket hike granted by the Telugu states, Chiru justified it.

“Pandemic hit every industry and the film industry is no exception. Our film’s budget shot up with delay. Can you imagine, the interest we are going to pay is Rs 50 crore? With Rs 50 crore we can produce a medium range budget film” replied Chiru to the journalist who asked the question related to ticket hike.

“In order to give the best visual output for audiences and to entertain them, we spent a little bit more. When we are spending a little extra, I guess there is nothing wrong in requesting the government to allow us to increase the ticket price by a certain amount. Moreover we are celebrities who pay the highest Income Tax of 42 percent and so we would anticipate a smaller portion in return,” added Chiru.

Megastar also responded to the viral video of him ‘pleading’ AP CM YS Jagan when the former led a team to resolve the issues pertaining to the film industry. “I did not plead CM Jagan for myself but for the whole film industry which was badly hit by the pandemic. We are yet to recover from the damages done by the pandemic,” stated Chiru.

Chiranjeevi answered every question with grace and that’s why he is MEGASTAR for a reason.
