Remember the film ‘Article 15’ wherein Ayushmann Khurrana questions his subordinates on caste? Now the whole country is debating on the issue of Hindi as a national language. Taking a subtle dig at this issue, the trailer of ‘Anek’ yet again makes you think twice on how to be identified as a citizen of this country.
‘Anek’ is the second collaboration of hero Ayushmann Khurrana and director Anubhav Sinha. The film is based on the political conflicts in the North-East region of India which is the most neglected part of the country.
Ayushmann works for a peace mission between the rebels/separatists of the North-East and the armed forces. But he faces huge challenges to negotiate the terms and risks his life too.
The interesting part of the trailer comes when Telugu actor JD Chakravarthy enters the scene. Ayushmann and JD take a ride and a thought provoking conversation takes place between them.
“Hindi doesn’t decide whether an individual hails from north or south India and so it’s not about Hindi. But how to identify the real citizen of India,” says Ayyshmann and that’s a hard hitting line that our politicians should seriously take note of.
Produced by T-Series and director Anubhav Sinha, ‘Anek’ releases on May 27th.
