Ram Charan’s double treat on May 20

Ram Charan is the only star hero in the Telugu film industry who had two big releases in the first four months of this year. While he came with RRR in March, his other film Acharya was released on April 29.

Directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR featured Jr NTR in the other lead role. It was a sensational hit at the box office. Recently, RRR completed 50 days of its run. It collected more than Rs. 1100 crores at the box office. 

On the flip side, Acharya was directed by Koratala Siva and featured Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role. Though it was said that Charan played a pivotal role in the movie, his character is no less than a lead role. However, Acharya ended up as a disaster at the box office. 

Now, both these films are going to land in the digital space on the same day. RRR and Acharya will have their respective OTT release on May 20. While RRR will stream on Zee5, Acharya will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

RRR will be initially showcased on Zee5 in the pay-per-view model. After a few days, it will be available for free for Zee5 users. Initially, Acharya had an agreement with Prime Video to showcase the film after 40 days of its theatrical release. But as the film became a flop at the box office, the makers decided to premiere it on OTT within just three weeks of its release.

If we consider both these films, RRR will undeniably get more views compared to Acharya. Meanwhile, Mega fans are prepping up to rewatch both the films as soon as they land on OTT space.
