Kamal Haasan’s most-awaited film Vikram has finally hit the screens the other day. Starring Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi in the other pivotal roles, this action thriller is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Vikram took a flying start in Tamil Nadu. It has now emerged as the third biggest opening day grosser in the state. Ajith’s Valimai and Vijay’s Beast are in the first two positions. Though he got big openings, legendary actor Kamal failed to beat the records set by Ajith and Vijay.
According to the Kollywood trade reports, Valimai is this year’s biggest opening day grosser among Tamil films with earnings of Rs.36.17 crores on the first day. Beast (Rs.26.40 crore), Vikram (Rs.20.61 crore), ET (Rs.15.21 crore), RRR (Rs.12.73 crore), Don (Rs.9.47 crore) and KGF 2 (Rs.8.24 crore) are in the next positions.
In fact, Vikram also turned out to be the career-best opening for Kamal Haasan in the state. If he continues to collaborate with young directors on exciting subjects, he can set up many more records in the coming days.
Vikram also opened well in the Telugu states and reportedly collected a gross of Rs. 3.70 crores (Rs. 1.96 crore share) at the box office.
