Tollywood recently took an important decision to not bring new films for release on OTT platforms in less time.
The bigwigs of Tollywood and the producers collectively decided to give a time of 8 weeks for a big-budgeted flick to release on OTT and the time period is 4 weeks for all other films. The decision applies to films that are not picked up by streaming services.
Now, Ram’s next film ‘The Warrior’ is releasing in theatres on the coming Friday. There are reports about the film carrying a theatrical business of 30 Cr rupees. For the investment to be recovered, the film needs a solid and uninterrupted theatrical run.
As per the latest gossip in the industry, if the film turns up on an OTT platform in just four weeks, it is hard for the distributors to gain their investment. Despite the talk, the producers will push to run the film in the major centres for at least four weeks.
The film is releasing with a good buzz and all the parties involved in the making of the film are hoping for a grand success. Let us also hope that the film will not meet the audiences on the OTT in just four weeks of its theatrical release. Hope the film result in good profits for the buyers!
