‘Agent’ Fever Hits Mega Camp Also

Looks like Tollywood got infatuated with the roles of spies and intelligence bureau agents right now. After Adivi Sesh rocked with Goodachari earlier, the likes of Karthikeya played NIA officer, Nikhil is doing SPY, while Nagarjuna is playing ruthless killer-agent in The Ghost and Akhil Akkineni is doing one with Surender Reddy’s Agent. Looks like even Mega camp want to taste this now.

Reports are coming up that mega hero Varun Tej is likely to play the role of an agent in his upcoming film being directed by Praveen Sattaru. To be shot extensively in London, and with Sattaru churning out similar films two times already, including PSV Garudavega and The Ghost, one could expect that he will show Varun Tej as yet another impressive agent. That would be also the first time for a mega camp’s hero to play the role of an agent.

Whether it is playing an RAW agent or an Intelligence Bureau officer or simply any Indian spy, it takes not only stylish filmmaking but a story that actually connects with the common man. Bollywood has churned out a good dose of movies and series like Ek Tha Tiger, Baby, The Family Man, Special Ops etc when it comes to this agent-genre. We have to see if Tollywood filmmakers will also match to that quality it terms of content and result now.
