Vijay Deverakonda’s comments on the boycott trend have not gone well with many. During Liger promotions, Vijay said the Boycott trend does not make any difference if the people who want to watch the movie will go and watch it. While some supported Vijay’s comments, a popular distributor in Mumbai was not in them.
Manoj Desai ridiculed Vijay’s comments and he said it is because of Vijay’s arrogance Liger did not have good footfalls and bookings now. Manoj Desai further said Vijay should have released the film on OTT if he is that persistent in his attitude.
Cut to the current situation post-Liger’s release, Vijay met Manoj Desai to explain what really happened. Vijay apologized to Manoj Desai while he explains only a small part of a whole video was circulated leaving the context aside. Vijay said he was misunderstood based on that small video bit and apologized to Manoj Desai.
Manoj Desai too said he understands now what the context was. He even said that Liger is making good money in Hindi circuits. It looks like Vijay realized what damage his speeches and comments has done and now he seems to be trying to control the damage.
