Content is king, not just now but for ages. However, promotions are becoming the key for a film to click at the box office these days. Then comes a thing called ‘star power’ which will pull the audience to theatres even with fewer promotions. If both content and star-power work, then the result will be like “Pushpa”, where the film worked at the box office without even hefty promotions.
At this juncture, the film Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Godfather” is coming, and already the situation is quite clear that the star hero doesn’t want to promote the film heavily.
Though the release is just two weeks away, the makers are just releasing songs and lyrical videos but no visible promotions are made till now. Reports are coming out that Chiranjeevi wanted this way intentionally as he felt that he has promoted the film “Acharya” aggressively and that has resulted in unwanted expectations of the film.
Right now, there are complaints being heard that Chiranjeevi is not doing the right thing by not heavily promoting the film. But if the film runs in theatres on its own merit as the Megastar would anyway pull crowds to theatres on the first day owing to his star power and massive mega fanbase, it will be like turning tables to prove that promotions are also not needed sometimes.
