Decoding The Success Formula Of Pan-India Films?

The trend of pan-India films started with Baahubali. Post Baahubali, we have seen many pan-India releases. However, only a handful of them proved to be successful at the box office.

After Baahubali, only KGF, Pushpa, RRR, and Ponniyin Selvan proved to be successful at the pan-India box office. Apart from that, various other multi-lingual films failed to do well across the nation in all languages.

If we take the case of the above four films, all of them are set in the past. Baahubali, RRR, and PS-I are period films. KGF is set in the 1980s. Pushpa is set in the last 1990s. None of these movies is based on the current backdrop.

Meanwhile, there are other factors that helped these movies in getting massive craze across the state. They are big budgets, huge casting, a director’s track record, and wide releases. RRR, Baahubali and PS-I are classic examples in this case.

Whereas if we take Pushpa and KGF, they garnered people’s attention with interesting teasers, trailers, and musical albums. If pan-India films have none of these factors, it is becoming difficult for them to do well at the box office. We have to see if any other pan-India film breaks these factors in the coming days.
