Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar are the two big stars in the Tamil film industry. Whenever their films get released, there will be a festive atmosphere at the theatres. Generally, we don’t see their films clashing at the box office.
The last time Ajith and Vijay’s films clashed at the box office was during Sankranthi festive season in 2014. Ajith’s Veeram and Vijay’s Jilla hit the screens during Pongal that year.
Now, after a gap of nine years, these two star heroes may clash at the box office once again. According to the latest reports, Ajith’s Thunivu and Vijay’s Varisu will take on each other during Pongal 2023.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Varisu will have a simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil. Dil Raju is bankrolling the project. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in it. Already, the makers announced that the film will definitely hit the screens during Pongal 2023.
On the flip side, there is no official confirmation about the Pongal release from Thunivu’s makers. But the sources close to the makers stated that it is also gearing up for the Pongal release.
If that is the case, we are going to witness an epic clash between Ajith and Vijay during next year’s Pongal festive season.
