Two star composers at the given moment in Tollywood who are not only known for their songs but are also popular for their background scores are none other than Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman. Both of them are having terrific blockbusters in their career at any given time, but then, it looks like their work is becoming quite passable and routine these days. Here’s the story.
First of all, after the terrific success of Akhanda at the box office, everyone hailed Thaman as the next big thing. Not only they called him the third hero of the film after Balayya and Boyapati, but people started adoring him as a maestro.
And Thaman who is literally on fire with BGMs of movies like Akhanda and Bheemla Nayak has really disappointed the music lovers except in a few scenes when it comes Veera Simha Reddy. Except two songs, even they are also not up to the mark.
In fact, when songs of Pushpa got released, they quickly clocked 100s of millions of views on YouTube only because of Devi Sri Prasad’s immense creative brilliance. And he rocked with the background score of the movie as well.
Unfortunately, that touch couldn’t be seen or felt in many of DSP’s movies in recent times. Except for the interval block, never Devi impressed with his background score in Waltair Veerayya though the songs are catchy.
In one way or the other, both the star composers, DSP and Thaman, have failed at the same time this Sankranthi as usually one of them rocks. One wonders if their creative juices are not flowing in the proper direction or if they are not flowing for senior heroes.
