Director Vamshi Paidipally’s second Tamil movie Varisu (Vaarasudu in Telugu) starring Vijay which was released during the Sankranthi festival becomes the first blockbuster in the state in 2023. The movie has now become the highest-grosser for Vijay.
Varisu collected 300 Cr worldwide much before the completion of its fourth week run at the ticket window. While the movie was exceptional in Tamil Nadu, it made strong business in Telugu and other southern states. In overseas too, Varisu minted huge bucks.
Varisu is the first 300 Cr grosser for Vijay. The movie starred Rashmika Mandanna playing the leading lady, while Srikanth, Sarathkumar, Shaam and few others essayed important roles.
