Bimbisara has caught the attention of many in the industry. The film’s success has worked well for protagonist-cum-producer Kalyanram as well as debutante director Vasishta. The fantasy action film was received well by the audiences and this set expectations high on the film’s sequel Bimbisara 2.
The latest we hear is that director Vasishta, who directed the first instalment, may not direct the second instalment in the Bimbisara franchise. Apparently, some creative differences surfaced between the film’s team and this resulted in Vasishta moving onto his other projects. Both Vasishta and Kalyram have decided to part ways amicably, shared a source in the unit. The decision is said to be mutual.
It is said that Kalyanram wants to go with Anil Paduri who headed the VFX works of Bimbisara. Anil is reportedly working with a team on the works of Bimbisara 2 indicating that he is most likely to direct crazy Bimbisara 2.
Vasishta is in talks to direct star heroes. He has projects lined up with Nandamuri Balakrishna, Ram Charan and Rajinikanth. Vasishta met Rajinikanth and narrated a storyline which reportedly impressed the superstar. This project with Rajini is expected to take off later and in between, Vasishta would be doing a film.
Change of director sequel isn’t new in Tollywood. Recently we saw something similar happen for DJ Tillu 2 where Siddhu Jonnalagadda has replaced director Vimal. Now, Bimbisara is joining this bandwagon.
