Recently in a special interview, a group of directors including Nandini Reddy, Vivek Athreya, Indraganti Mohan Krishna and Shiva Nirvana laughed to the core when C/o Kancharapalem director Venkatesh Mahesh made fun of KGF, commercial films and the mindset of the audience. But then they got this indirect punch from none other than the hero that worked with them all.
Except for Venkatesh Maha, Natural star Nani worked wilt all the above said directors and even gave life to them in one way or the other through his brilliant performance in their films.
While speaking about commercial cinema in a Bollywood interview, Nani stated that they are the real backbone of the Indian film industry. “Only commercial films bring revenue, and only if the pockets of producers are filled to the brim by those revenues, they will be able to produce interesting projects. If you don’t have commercial films, then nobody will dare to make other types of movies that will invite audiences to theatres” said Nani, in a conversation.
Well, that should actually answer the likes of Nandini, Indraganti and Vivek who felt that good directors like them are getting poor marks from the audience. If a film is well made with all the commercial elements, surely it works at the box office and directors get more offers. This is the time to take Nani’s words more seriously for all of them.
