₹5 Cr For First Part, ₹100 Cr For Sequel?

Other day, finally the makers of “Kantara” movie announced that the works related to the sequel of the movie have started. On the eve of Ugadi, Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty announced that the writing of Kantara 2 has begun. The story of the movie is not a sequel, but actually a prequel to the events that took place in the first film of the franchise.

Reports are now coming about the remuneration of hero Rishab Shetty, who also happens to be the writer and director of the project as well. For the first ever Kantara movie, the makers never expected that it would do well outside Karnataka so they made it with a budget of ₹20 crores and paid nearly ₹5 crores to Rishabh as a paycheck for all of his services. But after looking at the humongous success of Kantara, surely his payment for the next installment of the franchise will shoot up meteorically.

According to the grapevine, Rishab is being paid a whopping Rs 50 crores up front as a paycheck while he will taking a part of the sales as his share too. That will bring him easily another 50 crores odd and that will make him the ₹100 crore remuneration getter. However, this is not for just being a hero but also a director and writer too.
