“Balagam” has been gaining popularity recently and is now setting a new trend by being screened in various villages across the state. The movie highlights family relations, human values, and ethics and is shown with the support of village heads. Over the past few days, “Balagam” has been screened in many villages in the former Karimnagar district, with the sarpanches taking the lead.
The first screening occurred during the Ugadi festival in Vattimalla of Konaraopet mandal in the Rajanna-Sircilla district. Later, it was shown in other villages like Kasaram, Upparamallial, Venkatraopet, Jaggasagar, and Metpalli mandal.
Screenings of movies in rural areas have become a thing of the past, but “Balagam” is reviving this age-old practice. It reminds people of the documentaries that used to be shown via projectors by the government in public spaces to educate people about welfare schemes and developmental programs.
The director, Venu Yeldandi, has succeeded in his goal of explaining to people about souring relationships and disappearing human values through the movie.
The screenings of “Balagam” have received positive feedback from the villagers, with many appreciating the effort to bring entertainment and education to their doorsteps.
Apart from Karimnagar, the movie is also being shown in villages in Medak, Siddipet, and Sangareddy districts.
At places where there is no access to theatres, such village screenings will bring the audiences close to movies.
